There are three phases in the treatment…

Phase I: Introductory Session is about establishing the focal person's social network.

Phase II: Combination of core topics and elective topics is about building positive support for change, developing new skills if these are needed, and making lifestyle changes that include meeting the needs of daily living and spending some time on nice things to do.

Phase III: Final Session is about ending therapy and planning for the future.

Phase I and Phase III can be completed within one session. Phase II typically consists of 6 sessions but can be fewer.
